The Emily Jordan Foundation (EJF) – was set up by Emily's family and friends after she died in April 2008 when on holiday. Emily understood the difficulties that people with disabilities face both socially and when trying to gain employment. Emily helped to set up Spokes which became a registered charity, so the development of the Emily Jordan foundation was the next logical step to continue with her good work, and as a legacy to her
EJF continues to fund raise to support the work of Spokes, Twigs and Woodworks who provides opportunities for people with moderate learning and physical disabilities to participate in a manufacturing environment to develop their skills in the workplace.
Twigs and Wood Works were established in 2013 to provide further opportunities for Trainees to get involved in Horticulture and in making products from Wood. Every opportunity is given for Trainees to get involved to their own ability level. This may be planning, potting up, sanding, painting and serving customers who come to purchase products from the greenhouses at Brinton's Park.
Our services are designed for young adults in transition; adults with learning and physical disabilities who would like to develop their skills and to be involved in production, to their ability level. We support people to develop socially & emotionally whilst learning new skills.
Our staff and volunteers are trained and qualified bike mechanics or horticulturists which enables the trainees to produce products of high quality.
We have an excellent team of highly skilled professional staff to support you. Every staff member receives mandatory training-
- Health & Safety
- First Aid
- Person Centred Planning
- Disability Awareness

- Challenging behaviour Awareness
