 Blue Ball, 11th June 2011The outstanding event of this year was the Summer ball which was held in Malvern on Saturday 11th June in conjunction with Colwall Rotary Club. It was hosted by Mike and Helen Simpson with tremendous support from Simon and Chris Egerton, Jacqui Guest, Rob Walker and members of Colwall Rotary Club. The evning was extremely well supported with over 500 people attending and having a fabulous time! The theme of the marquee was yellow and blue and looked absolutley stunning especially with all the wonderful flower arrangments and candles on every table. The weather suring the day had been very dull and overcast but as soon as all the guests started to arrive the sun began to shine and everyone enjoyed champagne on the lawn in the early evening sun. The setting was magical and a wonderful way to start the festivities! As people were sitting down Jenny Simpson treated guests to soem wonderful singing and after the meal the band Coloosion got everybody up dancing .... which continued into the early hours. The auction was held after a very delicious meal and plenty of drink! So many people had been extremley generous in donating some fabulous prizes for the auction and the bidding was fast and furious! The whole evening was fantastic and a huge success with £1900 being raised. THe evening was for three charities and the Foundation recieved a cheque for £9500.
