Twigs

Learning horticulture skills from planning ahead, potting & nurturing plants to serving customers.

About Twigs

Twigs was established in 2013 and the trainees who attend will develop new skills based around gardening and horticulture. Having refurbished the once redundant greenhouses on Brinton Park, the trainees now have a great environment to work.

Production has increased year on year and we have a large range of plants available to purchase.

Trainee Experience

Getting involved and being part of a team that transforms the site through each of the growing seasons gives the trainees a positive experience as they engage in the associated processes and tasks from planting, watering and general care, through to the selling of the plants to the public.

The trainees experience all the different aspects of a small business. Our approach reflects the successful model of practical training we have used in our Spokes project.

We also grow seasonal fruit and vegetables in our raised beds for the trainees to take home to cook, as part of our healthy lifestyle programme.

We sell a range of high quality home-grown plants, from hardy perennials to pretty seasonal bedding plants.
